It is hard to deny that there is a lot of magical essence attached to the midi-skirt. What does it make us think of? Fifties housewives? Sort of. Impracticality? Sure. 

Personally, they make me want to dance. Vera Ellen was an incredible dancer/actress who stars in one of my very favorite Christmas movies, White Christmas. Since I was little I wanted to dance like her and have my skirt twirl around the

way hers did when she would dance in the movie. Though not all of us get the chance to dance around in a dress with a massive tulle skirt.. it's nice to pretend.
